ONLINE EXCLUSIVE: The Ellis Family of G Bar C Ranch – February 2017 Profile

Published

The February 2017 NTFR profile, the Ellis family has been ranching in Cooke County more than 30 years. The founders, GC and Mary Ellis cultivated the property into a cow/calf operation, now running registered black Angus. The couples daughter, Meredith Ellis Ulibarri moved home with her family four years ago to secure the legacy and bring with her the third generation of Ellises to be raised on the place. Additionally the family work as a team to conserve the land, build better cattle genetics and much more for the next generation. A big potion of that is aided by Mike Knabe who has worked at the G Bar C Ranch 27 years. This video is just a glimpse into life on the G Bar Ranch and what this family is all about.

“Our goal of the video was to show people of the area that we are a family ranch and are great stewards of the land and our cows.  I feel it is a great example of all of us ranchers around here and a perfect message during thanksgiving.” ~Meredith Ellis  G Bar C Ranch

With all that said, and seemingly unrelated, I am a big John Wayne fan. From watching him dive into his role as a cowboy, to marveling at his time portraying a soldier or appreciating his acting gig as a sailor, there is seldom a week that goes by without me watching at least one

While We Were Sleeping

That old adage, “What you don’t know won’t hurt you.,” may have some basis in truth when applied to minor situations. However, when what you don’t know is presented in the form of a “Trojan Horse” and is what amounts to an incredible attempt to fleece American property rights, it becomes a different story altogether.

To put this unbelievable tale together, we need to step back to Joe Biden’s 2021 Executive Order which pledged commitment to help restore balance on public lands and waters, to create jobs, and to provide a path to align the management of America’s public lands and waters with our nation’s climate, conservation, and clean energy goals.
