Spring Fling
Leonard Park, 1000 W. California St., Gainesville, TX 76240. To honor the birthday of the playscape in Gainesville’s Leonard Park, the annual Spring Fling Celebration is held the first Saturday in May at Leonard Park from 10 am to 5 pm. Arts and crafts vendors come from all over, and the day is filled with wonderful arts and crafts including handmade baby shoes, jewelry and beads, bird houses and feeders, seed bombs, handmade wooden crosses, hair bows and halos, candles and face painting to name a few. There is also great food available at the celebration. Spectators will enjoy top working cowboys vie for the champion title in the ranch rodeo. Also watch cowboys, cowgirls and youth show in the ranch horse competition. There will also be a parade for onlookers to watch and a street dance. Additional attractions are live music, food, vendors, chuck wagon cook off, the highly-sought after matched horse races and the world’s largest bit and spur show.
