Dove Hunting – Extended Season

Texas Parks and Wildlife has made a number of changes to laws pertaining to the 2017 season and bag limits for a number of species.
Dove season is upon us, but before you head out to the fields you might want to take some time to better understand the new extended seasons and regions it affects. All this information is available in the Outdoor Annual published by Texas Parks and Wildlife.
The dates are as follows:
North Zone
Sep. 1 – Nov. 13, 2016, & Dec. 17, 2016 – Jan. 1, 2017
Central Zone
Sep. 1 – Nov. 6, 2016, & Dec. 17, 2016 – Jan. 8, 2017
South Zone
Sep. 23 – Nov. 13, 2016, & Dec. 17, 2016 – Jan. 23, 2017
Special White-winged Dove Area
Sep. 3, 4, 10, 11, 2016; Sep. 23 – Nov. 9, 2016 & Dec. 17, 2016 – Jan. 23, 2017

Ag Elsewhere: Montana

On Aug. 22, 2024 at 11:40 p.m., the Remington fire jumped the line in Wyoming to burn towards Montana at a high rate of speed. The fire burned 194,459 acres and over 41 miles from one end to the other in a span of two days. Livestock producers will be feeling the effects for years to come.
