It doesn’t matter if you’re hitting the rodeo road, or your horse is a glorified pasture ornament, gauging your horse’s level of health is important.
Familiarizing yourself with your horse’s vital signs regularly will not only give you a heads up when something is going wrong, but also provide your vet with valuable information if vet care is needed. With a bit of knowledge, you can assess your horse’s basic health in just minutes.
Some Basic Tools
You don’t necessarily need a fully stocked first aid kit to check your horse’s vital signs. Keeping a few items on hand will make your life easier if something does happen to your horse.
