Parting Shot

The sun is further vigilant and the days are longer. It is to the time cowboys humbly admire most, where felt hats turn to straw and new baby calves drop on the ground like rain. Amongst is a coyote pack assimilating further up the hill, yelping their roll call whilst gaining the attention of the horses ground tied that stand between. To prepare ourselves for the boastful storm off in the distance that makes the birds silent. To feel the cool breeze mixed with hot skin. For these are the days we live for, to be one with the earth.
