This is the second of a two-part series on the Lyndon B. Johnson Grasslands located in Wise County, with a portion extending into Montague County. The grasslands are one of Texas’ greatest natural resources and are managed with a multi-use approach by the United States Forest Service.
The Lyndon B. Johnson Grasslands are viable for North Texas ranchers and farmers as well as the oil and gas industry. However, it also boasts numerous recreational opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast. Unlike other grasslands, the LBJ Grasslands are located next to populated areas, allowing use to millions of nearby residents.
