Professional sports usually have an off-season, but with rodeo that is not the case. There is always another rodeo to go to, and that is especially true in Texas. The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo wrapped up December 16, and the cowboys and cowgirls of the Texas circuit had a short turn-around to get ready for the Ram Texas Circuit Finals Rodeo held in Waco, Texas, December 28 through 30.

The national circuit system has grown throughout the years. Created in 1975, the circuit system gives rodeo competitors who are not full-time athletes a chance to compete for big money and alongside the top names of rodeo. There are 12 circuits and every Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and Women’s Professional Rodeo Association member designates his or her home circuit at the beginning of the year.
