Here in Australia it is spring. The kids are all on a two-week break from school before their final term for the year (The Australian school year runs February through until the end of December). The sun is shining and it’s perfect weather for pony camp. Pony Camp is a camp run for children from three years old up to 17 years old and, of course, their horses. There are 980 pony clubs Australia wide and each club runs its own seven-day camp for their members in the last week of September. The town I grew up in ran a camp for 300 children. Some years numbers were higher, making it the largest pony camp in the Southern Hemisphere. To read more pick up the November 2015 issue of NTFR.
