10th Annual Falls Chili Cook-Off

Come spice it up for United Way’s 10th Annual Falls Chili Cook-Off. Bragging rights will be awarded to companies for best tasting chili, cornbread, cobbler and beans in addition to the Texas Heat Award and Best Booth Decoration. Bring the family and enjoy the children’s area. Public voting is $1 per vote for People’s Choice Chili, People’s Choice Cornbread, People’s Choice Cobbler, and People’s Choice Beans. Plus, a cash bar is available. Come to this family event with great food and entertainment. For only $2 you and your family can enjoy the music of the Blaine Gillespie Band, kid’s activity area and five food tickets. Tempt your taste buds with delicious chili, cornbread, cobbler and/or beans for $1 or buy a bowl for $5. Enter for your chance to win the 50/50 Raffle too. Wichita Falls Ranch & Farm Expo
JS Bridwell Ag Center, 111 N Burnett, Wichita Falls, TX 76301. The Wichita Falls Ranch & Farm Expo features more than 350 vendors in over 175,000 square feet of exhibit space. The expo will feature a live production bull sale, wild west rodeo acts and entertainment, Beer Garden, plus over $5,000 in prizes and giveaways. Texas A&M AgriLife Extension will be providing Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for Oklahoma and Texas producers through speakers and seminars. Show hours are Wednesday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) Workshop
Noble Foundation Kruse Auditorium, 2510 Sam Noble Pkwy. Ardmore, Okla. 73401. This workshop will give insight into BQA standards for animal care, record-keeping, nutrition and carcass quality. Participants can become BQA certified with successful completion of the workshop and a test. The workshop will be from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m

13th Annual Red River Wine & Beer Festival
JS Bridwell Ag Center, 111 N Burnett, Wichita Falls, TX 76301. Novices to connoisseurs can choose from more than 44 different Texas wines to sample and craft beer tastings, all under one roof. Each guest receives a souvenir wine glass plus an official guide listing a profile of each winery at the festival and details about their offerings that day. When guests are not tasting wine, they can sample specialty beers in the Beer Corral, tap their toes to live music. Select vendors will also provide a bevy of food and merchandise for purchase.
