The New Year kicked off with the Ram Texas Circuit Finals Rodeo in Waco, Texas. This event was a welcomed sight for cowboys and cowgirls, after all of the uncertainty that came with 2020.
Held Dec. 31-Jan. 2, the Texas circuit hosted some of the top rodeo competitors in the state. The top 12 cowboys sand cowgirls in each event qualified after competing in a minimum of 15 rodeos within the circuit throughout the year. The year-end champion and average champion advanced to the Ram National Circuit Finals, which will be held in Kissimmee, Fla., April 8-10, 2021.
In the bareback riding, Leighton Berry won two rounds to claim the average and year-end title. Berry is coming off a rookie appearance at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and has continued his winning ways throughout the circuit finals.
