COVID-19 and Animals

By now, most people have been saturated with COVID-19 information. Even with what is known about the virus, much of the information about COVID-19 is still unknown. This is especially true for how the virus interacts with animals.

Coronaviruses are ribonucleic acid viruses. The name corona comes from the crown that is formed from the spiked proteins on the outer edges of the virus. Coronaviruses infect humans and animals. COVID-19 scientific name is “Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).” COVID-19 is a zoonotic coronavirus. Zoonotic viruses pass from animals to humans.
