Confessions of a Hunter

The cool mornings yield to warm breezes in the afternoons, the mesquite trees are beginning to bud, and the signs spring has arrived are everywhere. This was the time of year my buddy Jake and I really looked forward to getting back outside.

Jake and I enjoyed fishing and did it as much as we could. We gathered up poles and various tackle and hit every stock tank, creek and lake we had access to. We didn’t have a boat so all our fishing was from the bank and mostly for bass, some catfishing, but bass fishing was our thing.

One day Jake shows up to school and says he got his hands on a two-man bass boat. Needed a little work, but it was ours. For the next several days we spent all our spare time rounding up things we needed for our new boat. We found a trolling motor, got a battery and managed to fix the seats.
