My boy, Clay and I really enjoy getting out into the woods, filling feeders, watching animals and if it’s hunting season, hunting.
I enjoy his time and contribution to the joys and wonder of the outdoors. The day is nonstop questions and exploration, curiosity and reason. However, there are days during the off season when you just don’t have much to hunt or do out in the woods.
I woke up early one summer day, before anyone else in the house was moving. I was at the kitchen table enjoying a cup of coffee pondering the day’s events when I could hear Clay beginning to stir.
He comes into the kitchen, wiping the sleep from his eyes, hair messed up, and still a little groggy. Clay asked, “What are we doing today?”
