Ranches are known for having working cow horses to get daily jobs done. Some even produce their own stock, breeding from a long line of proven horses.
Over the years, bloodlines have been refined for a specific discipline, but many of today’s horses go back to several of the same famous ancestors.
Numerous cow horses go back to certain well-known horses such as Doc Bar. Many cowboys prefer the cutting bloodlines but are recently seeing horses being out-crossed to running blood as well.
High Brow Cat is a staple in the Waggoner Ranch’s breeding program, with many of their horses going back to the great cutting horse.
