‘Tis the Season in Grapevine – The Christmas Capitol of Texas

Warm your heart with a memorable time in Grapevine, the Christmas Capital of Texas.

Hosting more than 1,400 festive events within about 40 days, there’s little wonder why Grapevine is branded the Lone Star State’s headquarters for the holiday season.

Welcoming all year, this hospitable city, conveniently situated between Fort Worth and Dallas and amid the area where Tarrant, Dallas and Denton counties meet, is acclaimed for its wine tastings, shopping, and resorts, which are alone, destinations. However, it’s extra alluring when wrapped in sparkling ribbons, bows and wreathes, blanketed in twinkling lights, and all aglow with joyful celebrations, beginning mid-November, through December, and into early January, annually.

Whether a staycation for those living nearby, a daytrip, weekend getaway or extended stay, there’s more than enough for all ages to see and do during the Christmas season.

Of Grapevine’s more than 20 hotels, two include mega properties, the Gaylord Texan Resort and Great Wolf Lodge, each exemplifying the motto, “everything’s bigger in Texas.”

With the holidays and festive goings-on, advance reservations are key because rooms book quickly, but they do become available last minute occasionally, due to cancellations. Even without a stay, a visit is well worth the parking fee for a glimpse of the resorts’ awe-inspiring Christmas decorations. A magical onsite experience is complimentary; however, participation in activities is extra, so it’s recommended to plan ahead and call or check the website for times and pricing. Seems lately these days Texas is becoming the envy of musicians from around the world.
With the overwhelming response to “Yellowstone,” the television series, Texas once again finds itself under the microscope of the world, much like the late 1980’s TV series know to all around the globe as “Dallas.”

With that said, the musician population in Texas is beginning to grow as many aspiring performers turn their sights on Texas instead of Nashville. Meet my newly-found friend and fellow musician Grace Partridge. This youthful 19 year old has recently made Texas her new home. She began fiddling at age four in Rigby, Idaho. Grace worked her way through the National Fiddle championships in Weiser, Idaho, becoming a five-time national champion. She’s even played on the Grand Ole Opry. Still yet, her desire to become a true Texas Fiddler has brought her to the Lone Star State. I’m pretty sure we can thank Bob Wills for that.
