North Texas Fair and Rodeo Announces Strong 2015 Entertainment Lineup

The North Texas Fair and Rodeo is pleased to announce the 2015 entertainment lineup for the 87th annual event August 21-29. “ We have combined two Country Music legends with our popular red dirt super stars to make this year’s entertainment lineup the strongest in history,” said Glenn Carlton, Executive Director of the Denton based North Texas Fair and Rodeo Association. Carlton went on to say, “Ronnie Milsap will be joining us on our first Saturday and The Charlie Daniels Band will be headlining our last day.” Carlton said the opening act on Friday, August 21 cannot be announced until August 2nd, but “it will be worth the wait to announce the biggest name in Texas Red Dirt music.”

Other main stage entertainment acts include Jake Hooker, Bleu Edmondson, Mike Ryan, the Cody Johnson Band, Bobby Pulido and  the Josh Abbott Band. Over 20 well known regional artists will appear on the Bud Light Stage, including Sam Riggs and Zane Willams. Go to ntfair.com for a complete list of talent and schedule of concerts.

The North Texas Fair and Rodeo is known throughout the Southwest as a leader in PRCA rodeo and entertainment venues, attracting crowds of all ages from hundreds of miles around. The attendance has consistently grown over the years as the NT Fair and Rodeo adds to the growing list of attractions including family entertainment, a premier midway,  livestock competition and exhibition displays. Executive Director Carlton expects crowds to exceed 160,000 this year.

The North Texas Fair and Rodeo is a non-profit organization benefiting the youth of the North Texas area.

Seems lately these days Texas is becoming the envy of musicians from around the world.
With the overwhelming response to “Yellowstone,” the television series, Texas once again finds itself under the microscope of the world, much like the late 1980’s TV series know to all around the globe as “Dallas.”

With that said, the musician population in Texas is beginning to grow as many aspiring performers turn their sights on Texas instead of Nashville. Meet my newly-found friend and fellow musician Grace Partridge. This youthful 19 year old has recently made Texas her new home. She began fiddling at age four in Rigby, Idaho. Grace worked her way through the National Fiddle championships in Weiser, Idaho, becoming a five-time national champion. She’s even played on the Grand Ole Opry. Still yet, her desire to become a true Texas Fiddler has brought her to the Lone Star State. I’m pretty sure we can thank Bob Wills for that.
