Nocona Rotary Club Bull Fest

The 10th annual Nocona Bull Fest is planned for Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 8 P.M. Last year’s champion, Cody Johnson, went home with the prize money and a custom pair of Larry Mahan boots. This year’s competitive bull riders will have their work cut out for them matched up against some of the best bulls in the country.
The Nocona Bull Fest is an exciting show for the whole family. We start with the Mutton Bustin’ for the little guys (six and under) check in at 7 P.M. We then roll right into a western act of patriotism and freedom, as the American flag will be presented horseback, followed by prayer and the National Anthem. Then we will crack the latch on an 8 second adrenaline rush with hopes of seeing a memorable bull ride.
In between sections of action-packed, extreme bull riding, we have other events for your entertainment, such as the children’s calf scramble, the exciting ladies’ steer scramble with a cash prize, and last, but not least, the dangerously hilarious donkey race.
Remember with this event come early, be loud, and stay late, because the show is not over until the live music stops playing. A dance, included in your admission, will start immediately following the bull riding.
This fun-filled Saturday night is not possible without your support and loyalty to the event. The concession proceeds go to the Nocona Rotary Club, which supports community projects and provides college scholarships for local youth. Mark your calendars and bring the family. You will not be disappointed with the action-packed event and the western heritage display right here in Montague County. To read more pick up the April 2014 issue of North Texas Farm & Ranch.
